While out frolicking in the strip malls along the pike I ran into several friends from High School, it was a pleasant surprise since I have lost track with a good number of people that I wish I wouldn't have. One of the places I had to go to was the pet store, I needed water conditioner and I wanted a new 'live' model, so I bought a pair of giant snails, one is black and the other a squash like color.
While at the pet store I met a cat with a very sweet disposition and eyes that were almost identical in color to mine.
Back at mom's I was playing around while she attempted to fix Dusty's car...and found a HUGE praying Mantis...she became my friend and posed for some excellent pictures...one of the best models I have ever had!
It is amazing how much I have gotten into photography, I randomly go through these phases where I can't make jewelry...I am just not inspired...usually its because I need supplies and the things I do have just make me go blahhhh because most of my beads that I have now are 'filler beads' oh well I have a huge amount of jewelry to put on etsy, so taking a break from my beads wont financially kill me and make it impossible to buy my beads come November. One good thing about my photography thing that I am into right now, I have become addicted to Deviantart again (just like High School!) I am hoping to sell prints of my photos and mom's paintings on there.
And amid all the flurry of activity, the fluffy has been brutally attacked my hayfever -_-

That is a great picture of the praying mantis. I never knew they had such pretty eyes.
Love the praying mantis, I've always had a fondness for them. I used to keep them as pets when I was a kid, much to my mom's horror.
Your mom working on Dusty's car... That's hilarious. :)
Great post! I think I need a snail:)
It's amazing how much this photography thing has grown on me. At first it was such a battle - now I truly enjoy it. I'm very into my displays, what sets off what color and so on - plus any living creature is also fair game for my camera - My pets are tired of the paparazzi following them around the house:)
Thanks for a great read!!
I like your snail :) That reminds me of the movie "Amelie", where she sends her dad's garden gnome all around the world to show her dad wht he's missing out on.
I've also just been getting back in touch with old school friends recently - I actually just mentioned it in my blog!
I love that praying mantis!
Thanks for sharing your blog:)
I agree the praying mantis photo is wonderful!
