Poetry

So...I was cleaning through my file cabinet and I found a notebook filled with some of my old poetry...I almost died, I don't know if it was from laughing or embarrassment that I wrote something like this back in high school. I have to share it

SEPARATION
Do you miss me yet?
Does your mind drift to me?
Does your body long for my touch?
I miss you
My mind is always sailing to you
Like a boat lost at the stormy sea
And I standing on the prow
Crying to the Sirens
To sing a more pleasant tune
Not of mourning and loss
For if I die among the rocks of memory
I will find no joy in my destruction
Missing you only you
As the wound I my heart putrefies
Weeping the sweet syrup of decay
Blended with the thick wine of blood
Intoxicated with the pain of longing
Do you feel my pain?
Are you as drunk on it as I?
We are living two separate lives
While our hearts beat
Calling to one another
Cursed fate
Separating lovers for so brief a moment
The sweet moments with you I cherish
Like a blue summers day
Your sweet caresses remind me of Apollo’s whispers
Promising warmth and eternal youth
The noxious time that we spend apart
Is better spent below the earth
Like Persephone in Hades’ realm
Longing for the sun
But I sit in starving darkness
Hungry for you
Wary of the sweet tantalizing ruby fruit
That would ease my longing
For a brief moment in sunlight’s ecstasy
An instant gratification
That leaves me longing for you more
A pomegranate seed turns to dust in my mouth
Compared to your bounty
My love do, not leave me longing for you for too long
For death would be sweeter nectar
To poison my soul with

Talk about angst! Now feel free to giggle at my ghastly poetry!

I think it is lovely. Nothing to giggle at, it was very heartfelt..
